Teen & Family Counseling

In my work with teens, I focus on strengthening secure relationships while also honoring their natural drive for independence, exploration, and even risk-taking. I help families reframe conflict as part of healthy development rather than something to fear or avoid. Through listening, reflective practices, and guided exploration, I support teens in building resilience, shaping their identity, and fostering deeper, more connected relationships within their families, friends, and communities.

Families: For family therapy, teens must be 14+ and a parent or primary caregiver should be available / present for part of sessions. In family therapy, we look at your teen’s challenges in the context of the whole family system, rather than only seeing the teen as the “problem.” The goal is to improve communication, strengthen relationships, and create healthier patterns that support everyone’s growth.

Teens: Teens (14+) can be seen on own without parental consent if able to consent & pay for their own treatment. The focus is on giving teens a safe space to talk about what’s really going on without judgment. The goal is to help teens make sense of their feelings, find healthier ways to cope, and build confidence in how they handle challenges at home, with friends, and in school.

“Parents who speak with their children about their feelings have children who develop emotional intelligence and can understand their own and other people’s feelings more fully.”
